What We Believe
At Stillwater Church, we believe Christianity is built upon foundational, biblical truths. More than that, following Jesus is a way of living, walking as He walked, empowered and transformed by the Holy Spirit. As we grow deeper in faith, God deepens our relationships with one another, with the wider body of Christ, and with Himself. Because of this, Stillwater places a high value on authentic, relational connections.
Our members come from a beautiful variety of backgrounds. Most either started their faith journey in a different denomination or discovered Jesus for the very first time right here at Stillwater. While we value and partner with many different types of churches, we also cherish our distinct connection with the Global Methodist movement. Rooted in the historic, biblical Christian faith, this connection provides healthy accountability and a global missional partnership as we help people love and serve Jesus.
While Christians sometimes differ on minor matters, these are the foundational beliefs that shape who we are and how we live.
We Believe the Bible Is God’s Word
The Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative guide for our faith and life. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His plan of salvation, and His desire for us to know and follow Him.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
There is one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created us, loves us, pursues us, and invites us into a lifelong relationship with Him.

We Believe Jesus Changes Everything
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and reigns today as Lord. Through Jesus, we find forgiveness, freedom,hope, and new life. We believe Jesus is the Savior of the world and that one day He will return to make all things new.

We Believe God’s Grace Is for Everyone
No one earns salvation. We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. God loves every person and desires everyone to know Him. Jesus said of Himself that He is the way to heaven, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God reaches out to us before we ever reach out to Him, inviting us to respond in faith and follow Jesus.

The Holy Spirit sanctifies us through and through (1 Thessalonians 5:23), shaping our character, freeing us from sin, and helping us live and love like Jesus. Finally, the Holy Spirit deploys us to serve our community, nation, and world with Jesus’ transforming message (Acts 1:8).

Stillwater’s mission is simple: “People helping people love and serve Jesus.” Together, we gather with others in discipleship, to worship, and to serve. This value comes to life through our vibrant small groups and extensive outreach ministries.

We Celebrate Two Sacraments
Baptism: A visible sign of God’s grace and our connection to Christ and His Church. Through baptism, God marks us as His own and welcomes us into the family of faith.

Holy Communion: A holy remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a celebration of His presence among us. All who seek Jesus, repent of sin, and desire to follow Him are welcome to receive Holy Communion at Stillwater Church.
